Thailand National Space Agency GISTDA

GISTDA or Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency is the national space agency of Thailand. It is responsible for all space related activities of Government of Thailand and is under the Ministry of Science and Technology.

GISTDA is involved in,

• Development of Space Technology and Geo-Informatics applications.

• Develop satellite data base and derived natural resources center.

• Provide data services for space technology and geo-informatics.

• Development of human resources and development expertise in the field of remote sensing and geo-informatics

• Research and Development in the field of space technology.

Applications of GISTDA Thailand include,

• Forestry

• Agriculture

• Urban Planning

• Environment / Disaster Management

On October 1, 2008 the Russian Rocket DNEPR-1 launched successfully the THEOS (Thailand Earth Observation System) satellite.
