Density Altitude

The Pressure Altitude requires the use of the standard atmospheric model. The standard atmospheric model used in the calculations is the 1959 ARDC standard atmosphere model.

In order to compute the density altitude, the value of the density is compared with the values of the density in the standard atmospheric table. When the two values become equal the corresponding altitude is known as the Density Altitude. The density altitude has units of meters (m).
