Calculate Burnout Velocity of Single 1Stage Rocket Method to Calculate the Burnout Velocity of a Single Stage Rocket

Aerospace

Burnout Velocity Vb of a Single 1Stage Rocket To calculate the burnout velocity of a single stage rocket we need to have the total mass of the single stage rocket in kilograms.

We also need, the Specific Impulse of the Single Stage rocket in seconds (s).
The Structural Mass of the Rocket M(s) in kg. The Propellant Mass of the Rocket M(p) in kg The Payload Mass of the Rocket M(l) in kg.
The value of acceleration due to gravity is taken as 9.8 m/sec^2
Performing the calculation the initial and final masses of the single stage of the rocket are calculated.
Initial Mass of the Rocket = Structural + Propellant + Payload Mass
Final Mass of the Rocket = Structural + Payload Mass
Using the Equation of Burnout Velocity Vb = g0IspMi/Mf the value of the Burnout Velocity for a single stage rocket is calculated in km/s.
